Hey,

When providing a photocopy of your passport along with your application, does the copy of your passport need to be certified as "Certified true copies" by a commissioner of oaths, a notary public, or a justice of the peace?? There is a section in the instruction on certified true copies. Just wondering if a copy of your passport is one of those documents that needs to be certified as a true copy???

Thanks...

no. if you needed a certified copy, it would say so on the document checklist.

no, your photocopy of your passport does not have to be certified, but other documents do (birth certificate..etc), please see the checklist like jes_ON said to make sure.

Good Luck!

Thanks, Johnny31.
Yes, birth certificate is being translated by the embassy of my country with their supporting document.
I am handing in the original documents so I don't think these need to be certified as a true copy, correct??

Correct, like IELTS, PCC...etc we're suppose to hand the originals in so they don't need to be certified. Good Luck!

- certified copy of the original language birth certificate (DO NOT SEND THE ORIGINAL)
- ORIGINAL of the English translation
- ORIGINAL of the translator's affidavit

See the instruction guide - Translation of Documents -
