several questions on Canada passport applications:
1. after receiving citizenship certificate, is it legal to fly out of Canada with old passport without applying for Canada passport immediately? but definitely will apply for passport before coming to Canada again.
2. minors live abroad when citizenship certificate was issued as no requirement to attend oath. Is it ok to apply for passport overseas later?
3. Is it true that you will be Canada citizen after receiving certificate where or not you apply for Canada passport? no more residence requirement if you live abroad without Canada passport?

1. LEGAL? I dont know but you are Canadian citizen and you supposed to use your can passport
2. YES you can apply any time you want as long as they are not gonna travel using the old passport
3. Yes that is right the day you took your oath, you became Canadian

2. i think you may. ask call centre at 1-888-242-2100
3. if you want to fly to another country, get a passport first. you can apply it abroad too but its good to get in Canada. No more residence requirement.

The number you mentioned is CIC; after becoming citizen, your interaction with CIC is over.

contacting passport canada is also an option but CIC means (Citizenship and Immigration Canada), they can also provide general information to citizens too, i guess
