Hi there.

Had a quick question. I did the self assessment, and, without having a job lined up, I passed the points test to qualify for possible immigration. Anyone have any idea what chance one would have in being approved without a job lined up? How long does it normally take?

Do you still have the bf in Quebec? Why not just get married and have him sponsor you? The skilled worker wait if you apply from the US has been average about 19 months but they kind of make you promise that you are not moving to Quebec because Quebec has it's own immigration program and you really should be applying for QSW which has even shorter wait times. Besides, FSW rules are changing, everybody is waiting for the new ones, nobody knows what is happening. What if you go to Quebec as a tourist, take a huge crash course in French, don't need a study visa if it's a less than 6 month course, then apply for QSW when your French is good enough?

Quebec is not the only province for learing French. You can learn French at any institution that runs French languge courses.Just find out which institutions in your home contry do french language course. You could get information from French Embassy/consulate as well. You can get additional marks for knowing French.

No more boyfriend in Quebec, Leon. :(

Was just going to maybe try to do this on my own. Wasn't sure of the best route. I thought about taking french courses here. I don't know. Just not sure which route would be the best to proceed.
