Partner of a company is considered as "self-employed" ?

Hello,

I am working as software developer in company in which i am partner also.

1. Does it mean I am self employed?
2. My partner can give letter of experience etc. will it work?
3. I do get salary in my personal account every month from last 6 years.

Please help on this as i am confused. As in IMM5612 Document they have written following:

"Note: Self-Employed individuals must provide documentation from 3rd Party individual indicating the service provided along with payment details. Self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable of work experience."

Please elaborate "Self-Employed".

I am stuck, please help.

Is it a Private / Public Company?
Are you a decision making authority?
Do you have a DIN (Director Identification Number)?
Do you sign the documents / invoices of the company?
Are you a signing authority in the company account?

If the answers are "NO" than you are an employee. This is what is my understanding. As I own a Private Consultancy (Though never worked under it ) and I have a DIN

Don't take tension, no one will shoot you if you are a partner or director. Main purpose is to justify yourself on the position you are showing to CIC.

Yes you are self employed.

There are two type of partner, one is acting and another is sleeping.

Acting partner gets salary as well as profiting sharing.
