Hello Friends,

I have been working as a full-time technical sales Representative for more than a year and i am going to apply on that basis.
i just got a new offer for a temporary part-time job as teacher in a college. will i have to mention this in application?
my ielts scores are as below:
Listening 8, speaking 7, reading 7.5, writing 5.5

But I think teaching job comes in SKILL A. is my ielts score enough?

or should I just walk away from this offer? :(

Please help ASAP. i will have accept the offer by tomorrow..

If you begin working before you apply, then of course you will have to provide that information on your application.

However, if you already qualify on the basis of your other job, then it really won't affect your eligibility one way or the other.

yes i will be starting before applying ..
so that means my application will be reviewed on basis of my full time job? not on this part -time job?

Your qualifications will be reviewed against the program criteria - either you meet them, or you don't.

You need to have the required skilled work experience for CEC. Per the CEC checklist, you have to provide reference letters from past and current employers in the last 3 years.
As well, I believe in the Schedule 8, you have to list all jobs that fall under NOC O, A or B. So if you begin the teaching job before you apply, you have to include it and get a reference letter too. Not doing so will be considered misrepresentation.

On another note, look at your work permit to see whether there is a note on it prohibiting you from engaging in work in education, agriculture, etc. I've seen this condition on permits where the applicants have not had a recent medical. Teaching involves interaction with the public afterall, so a medical would normally be required.

Hi SenoritaBella,

so that means I need to have Skill A level IELTS score right?
college wants me to start asap..but my papers will be ready next month as I am waiting for my birth certificate...
so if i mention this then does my case goes to SKILL A Level ?

I don't see any note that restrict my area of work on my work permit.
but i have a note on my permit as below:

Travel Doc: PASSPORT
bonded: no
occupation: open ea
emp location: unknow
conditions: 1. unless authorized, must not attend any educational institution or take any academic, professional or vocational training course.
2. must leave Canada by ...(date)

If the NOC of your full-time job falls under skill level A, you need the corresponding IELTS scores. Since this is the job you are counting for your CEC work experience, you have to get IELTS score for this skill level. Your language requirement will be based on the full-time job even if you list the teaching(part-time) job.

That's ok then if there is no note restricting you from working anywhere.

As I stated previously, if you meet the requirements based on your sales job, then the teaching job will have no impact on your application. You are obsessing about a non-issue :) Just make sure the evidence you provide for the sales job meets all the requirements.
