Part time job ?

I got admission in mohawk college for Sep intake. I am planning to go in july or August and looking for a part time job and applying for SIN so that i can start working when school starts.What do you guys think ? Is that a gd idea?

With the new rules coming into effect on June 1, 2014 you will be eligible to work off campus as soon as your school starts not before. We do not know how much in advance of your studies start date a SIN would be issued. If you arrive to early, the IO can tell you to go back and come closer to the start date of your classes. I would not try to arrive more than a month before the start of classes
