I am planning to invite my father, single/widowed, to visit me in Canada. I am a student and do not have enough income to apply for his super visa.

With this thread, I would like to request to forum members, who have successfully applied for their parent visitor visa from NDVO, to share their experience. Please help sharing your experience, specifically do and don't, supporting and additional documents specific to NDVO (and moreover for Nepali citizen), and any other recommendations.

Hi,

When you said you are a student, are you an international student or are you a resident going to school?

Anyways, I am from Nepal too, and I recently applied for TRV for my parents and brother. The New Delhi High Commission has requested for their passport, and I am waiting for them to give me a good news.

Since the VFS in Nepal is closed until further notice, you can apply for the Temporary resident visa online.

In terms of Documents, write an invitation letter for your father. In my case, I am graduating, so I invited them for my convocation, but you could just mention that after earthquake you want to get reunited with your father that will reassure you that he is doing fine

Financial Documents: Since I was a student and i was working parttime, I wasn't able to show my income. My parents showed their property (House and Lands), bank transaction for 3 months, balance in the bank, and his association with organization in Nepal.

Relationship Verification: Thank god,my brother had old relationship verification document, which I used. And, Additionally for relationship, I photocopied my passport and the page in the back which states Father's name.

Show strong ties to the country...be it other family members or properties or jobs.

(Post earthquake, Canadian Government is trying to provide priority processing for Nepalese. So, after applying, he could email the Delhi high commission, stating how he has been affected by an earthquake and request for priority processing.)

Good LUCK.

Thank you for the reply, I am a PR ... I have more than average income but not enough to apply for Super visa.

Anyway, your information is what I am looking for and I have already started preparing for the same.

Honestly, my problem is not applying for dad's MRP before visa application :)

OH Shoot!!! I KNow MRP is a bummer ehhh.... my brother had applied for his MRP, and I was so upset thinking the CDO office might not be working on passports after earthquakes, but through my friend, I came to know that they were working on it. And, I got the most important informations from my friend too...lol link to check if the passports are ready or not.

I checked and there it was...my brother's MRP. I was so excited and I applied for everyone right away. I hope not having a MRP won't be a huge issues...hopefully...

If you apply online, you can see the updates in your My CIC profile (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp)

If I were you, I would put whatever is the reason(s) I want my parents to be here rather than some made-up reasons.
