Hey guys, difficult question, So my parents had claimed refugee, but due to their own challenges left Canada for good in the early 1990s [I am born here while they were in processing, hence I am citizen by birth (lucky me), I have lived most of my life here with extended family since i was a teen and now I am finally settled and applying for my parents.

There is a question on the application:
6, C) made previous claims for refugee protection in Canada or at a Canadian Visa office broad, in any other country(ies) or territory(ies), or with the UNHCR)?

The answer is YES, but what more do I explain it beyond the fact that they left and since its been over 30 years, they never returned, not even on a visitor visa [I did get them a super visa recently so they did come in the last 2 years]. I do not have any information about their Refugee claim in the late 1980's,

I did request that information request form using their oldest passport #'s SIN #'s they were issued etc that they did have back then, it literally came back with nothing.

Anyone have any recommendation? Lawyer told me we can state that they were here, and that they left after withdrawing and if anything comes up we will then address it as needed.

I understand its a truly unique case, so please do not grill me on it, it wasn't in my hands, my father had reservations about his choices challenges starting a life here, unfortunately my mother was as independent and didn't contest the decisions so she stuck by his choices and went with him.

I am now doing this so we can spend remaining part of our lives closer together, rather than doing this visa stuff / extensions / or travel outside just meet immigration requirements.

I agree with your lawyer. State what you know and see if IRCC comes back with any further questions.

Presumably you declared this in the super visa application so I don't see this being an issue in the PGP application.
