Hi All,

I applied for my parents (Family sponsorship) in 2010 and now i have received letter from immigration for additional documents before they approve my application and send it for further processing.

however when i submitted my application in 2010 i had a family of 3 plus 4 people i was sponsoring (my dad, mom , and two brothers) and now i have had another baby and have a family of 4 plus 4 sponsors total 8 dependants.

With the addition of new baby i no longer meet the lico requirement for 2009 and 2010. I haven't informed CIC about the new baby yet. should i?

Plus i have some savings of my own would that help even if i don't meet Minimum LICO after the birth of my 2nd child?

If the additional documents you have been asked to complete ask you to confirm the number of dependents - then yes, you have to let CIC know that you now have one additional dependent due to the birth of your child.

Savings cannot be used to make up for a LICO shortfall.

Thanks for your reply,

no CIC have not specifically asked me to confirm the number of dependents, however on the letter there is a generic note as below:

Contacting our Office
You must contact CPC-Mississauga if you wish to:
 withdraw your sponsorship application;
 inform us of a change in personal circumstances in your family, such as a birth or
adoption of a child, a marriage, a divorce or a death;
 pay additional fees, including the Right of Permanent Residence fee;
 request a refund of fees related to your existing/previous sponsorship application;
 appoint or change your immigration representative(s).

You need to notify CIC of your change in number of dependents, and when it changed.

However the new baby should only start affecting LICO from the year they were born. Any previous years should be able to use your initial LICO amount using initial number of dependents. So if you qualified in 2010 based on LICO at the time, that will still be fine. However if you no longer meet LICO after adding dependent in the year they were born or later, then you would be in trouble.

Thanks Rob,

New Baby was born in June 2012. Now do i have to meet LICO from 2010(when i applied) to till my parents become PR of Canada? or just for 2009/2010 and 2011

because the letter CIC sent me they have asked me to provide Option C print out for only 2009 and 2010.

Thanks

share ur full time line plz
have you send your 2009 and 2010 option c print out ????when they asked additional documents in july 30 2014

you need to meet lico for 7 persons in 2009, 2010, 2011 and then baby born need to meet lico for 8 persons in 2012, 2013, 2014........

Only send whatever is requested.
CIC takes forever for processing this, it should not be held against sponsors. Sponsors should not have to delay their lives in order to satisfy the turtle department....
Hopefully it won't be jeopardizing your app

You have to meet LICO until your parents become PRs.

As mentioned, you need to meet LICO until the year your parents land as PRs... but also only send what's requested.

So if they are asking for proof of LICO from 2009 and 2010, then just send that. It will be based on your family size at the time (so before baby was born).

However keep in mind that at sometime in the future right up until your parents PR is actually approved, CIC may ask for proof of LICO up to today's date. So hopefully you also meet LICO based on family size of 8 starting in 2012. There's a chance CIC may not ask for another update to prove this, but they might. And if they do ask and you no longer meet LICO for 8 people for 2012, 2013, 2014+, your app may be denied.

Thank you Rob and all for responding

my apology if i am repeating myself below...

I will send them Option C print for 2009 and 2010 as they requested, but should i still inform them about my new born? even though they haven't requested revised dependant information but i am just worried about this generic note in the letter.

I'm also thinking about adding my wife as a co-signer, she has been employed since 2011, with her contribution we will have no issues meeting LICO.

Questions is can i add her as a co-signer in the midst of my application processing? and how do i do it? is there a form i need to fill out. Please help

Thanks
