My understanding of the above is "Priority Categories" = "Sponsored Spouses, Partners, and Children" and "Other Categories" = "Other Members of the Family Class" (sponsored parents and grandparents)

That being the case, I hope that the timeline information provided on the website is outdated!

i ageed with you on this but i was refferig the other categorries revieing date , i was talking about the currently reviewing applications recived which is july 2008, intervieing janu 2008, finalizing date of the early to mid 2008 applicant. means they are now working on the 2008 file.


Time to Initial Review :18 months
Time to Interview (if required) : 25 months
Time to Finalization : 19+ months


Currently Reviewing Applications Received :July 2008
Currently Scheduling Interviews for Applications Received : January 2008
Currently Finalizing Applications Received : Early to mid-2008

Hi Rick2007,

While your anxiety is quite understandable, CIC does not acknowledge the receipt of additional documents they had requested. You can make a "case specific" inquiry (using the online email link and providing details of the application). See if they respond to that. Check with CanadaPost to see if the package was delivered (not the signature, just that the package was delivered or not). In most cases, especially where international shipments are concerned, since the systems are not compatible between different postal services, acknowledgement of receipt is not given a priority (even though the packages are delivered).

Most likely, your package has been delivered but that information has not been passed back to Canada Post. You can also ask for GCMS notes (which takes a month to arrive) - in there you would get the details of when the additional documents were received in their file.

When i called Canada post they are not sure that parcels has been delievered or not? b'cos Canadapost Rep told me that they do not have facility to find out whether parcels deilver or not?

Hope CIC recieved the parcels....meanwhile i already send e-mail but still no reply from CIC yet........

Hi Rick2007, I don't see any issues with delivering the packages.
However, I would have used DHL/FedEx.. , they provide detailed tracking with signature proof. Registered post with acknowledgment is another option.

I already did mistake and used Register post through Canadapost at Canadapost outlet and lady misguide me and she told me that "do not worrry you will get signature after CIC recieved the parcels."

One lesson i learnt never trust on front counter person at any Canada post outlets, most of them they do not know what they are doing? even when i asked her that this documents are very important to me and are you sure i will get ackowledgement and she replied yah..yah.. sure we do all the time and how i end up with this situation.

my sister call the cici agent he is not helpfull anymore.they said wait you will get letter.after that my sister ask that her online status not working the agent transfer the call to online-help centre.they send us the e-mail to provide complete information i just fill the information and e-mail.why god every time happen to my application i am so much late before and now this

Couple of questions if you've any knowledge on these and help me to understand:
Info for this questions: My parents have completed their medical and been submitted by DMP to LVO (New delhi)
(AA). Can I apply for parents visitor visa to come to canada?
(BB). IF they are on visitor visa here, where do they have to send passport for PR visa stamping?
(CC). IF we get passport submit request from LVO, then at that time being in Canada, can we courier passport to LVO?

AA - YES
BB - From what I have heard, you can schedule appt with immigration officer to get it stamped inside Canada
CC - You can travel with passport to India, but I have seen DHL accept it as well

My e-cas is working right now. It was not working for a week after that I received an approval letter. May be that's also your case.

I am not sure if this was answered before but I would appreciate any information. The email came today in regards with the medical and police for my parent. Is the printout from the email enough for medical office or do we need to take the original letter?
