Parents' place of birth - USSR or Russia?

Hi all,

I am applying as a single person for EE under FSW. As a result I need to enter the information about my immediate family. Both my parents and my brother were born in Soviet Union, but their passports don't state that (the passports only state the regions of modern-day Russia where they were born). Should I put USSR or Russia for place of birth?

Russia, as the geographical area they were born is still in Russia and USSR is no more.
