Parents are currently in Canada on visitor Visa need to apply for Supervisa

Hi,

My parents are currently in Canada on visitor visa for 6 months until 11 Sept 2016, I am planning to apply for their Supervisa for 2 years or Extension of TRV.

1.Since my Mother Indian Passport and TRV is expiring in July 2017, can I apply for her Super visa directly or do I need to renew her passport prior to applying for Super Visa. If yes then when is the earliest I can renew her passport from Canada.
2.If she is granted 2 years Supervisa, and what if she plans to leave Canada before 2 years and plan to come back again within 2 years period ( ie before her Supervisa expires), will the super visa which was granted will still be valid or she need to apply for new Supervisa.
3.Do u recommend me to apply for an extension of TRV before 11 Sept 2016 ,if yes then until what period will she receive the extension since her passport is expiring in July 2017, do u recommend me to first apply for the new passport first from within Canada and then apply for extension.
4. What is the maximum period of extension of TRV I can request for?

Hi,

1. You would be applying for a re-issue of your mom's passport.... and NOT a passport renewal. The earliest you can do this is up to one year before the expiration of her current passport


2. You cannot apply for a super visa for your parents from within Canada. They will have to apply from India


3. You can apply to extend their temporary residence status (based on the current entry on the TRV). The application for authorized period of extended stay must be sent to CPC-Vegreville up to 30 days before their current visitor status expires.

Thanks for the response , I will apply for re-issue of my parent Indian passport from Toronto in July , Once we receive the Indian Passport can I apply for TRV for 2 years bcoz currently in their Indian passport the TRV is until 18 July 2017 as the validity of the passport was 18 July 2017. Kindly Assist.
Also is there a requirement for medicals that need to be done when applying for TRV.

Your parents already have TRVs which are valid until July 2017. So you cannot apply for new TRVs.... and not from within Canada.

What you can do is to apply to extend their period of authorized stay (for up to 2 years) before their current visitor status expires. So you will apply for this extension around 30 days or so before September 11, 2016

Hello,

I have a question regarding to my parents too. They have a TRV valid until July 1st 2016 and they will be in Canada on June 24th 2016 until August (I already know that expiry date on visa is for ENTERING into canada).
Since we don't have a Canadian embassy in Iran and they have to travel to another country to get their visa, I want to know if they can apply for a new TRV within Canada when they come here?
We don't want to extend their current stay, we just want to get a TRV visa for them for their next visit.

No, they cannot apply for new TRVs from within Canada.

They must submit their TRV applications to the Ankara visa office which is responsible for processing TRVs from Iran
