If anyone is in similar situation, and have tried PGP program but were not selected please let me know what's next after 10 year super visas expire? Government does not provide any information to Canadian citizens about next steps... They only say that alternative option to PGP is Super Visa but what happens after 10 years? Kindly only respond to my posts if you are in similar situation... I dont personal opinions about PGP programs etc.... as this is not what Im asking here. Thank you! <3

It was a poor decision to apply for HC . Supervisa was always for temporary stays .
You knew that .

Their Super Visa expired, we applied for PGP (was not successful), govt does not say anything about future PGP. If they leave Canada another 10 year super visa is never guaranteed. Plus I dont want my parents to be on temporary status for 20 years... when I am eligible sponsor. Canadians in similar situation are left in Limbo. Thats why I posted here as I want to hear from other Canadians who are in similar situation.

If parents are on Super Visa they are not allowed to request PR status? lets say to play PGP lottery?
They can certainly go the PGP lottery route. If they are selected, they must have valid status in Canada at the time the application is submitted (assuming they are in Canada).

If you look at the updated immigration numbers for PGP it is cut like all immigration programs. So if they aren’t in the pool you wait for it to reopen.

If they no longer have status in Canada then H&C is the path and you have to hope that application is approved. Are they still within the 90 days to restore their status? If so, I would try that.

Nothing is guaranteed.
You immigrated and your parents can visit you for years via supervisa.
They could have travel back to home country, live there for awhile and then return to visit instead of keep extending their visitor status and then eventually got a refusal to extend.

Thank you Scylla, yes Im going to apply for Restoration of status if not approved they will leave as I dont want them to violate immigration law after 10 years of maintaining status. But family is in very difficult situation especially my daughter so their presence in Canada is very very important for her wellbeing.

Theyve done that past 10 years.... thats why I asked.. unfortunately, govt does not say anything about Super Visas after 10 years....

You apply for another supervisa. If they are genuine visitors, and meet all requirements of supervisa, then it should not be a problem.

BUT since they have applied for H&C and got refusal, it's hard to proof that they are genuine visitors.

Understood, but if parents are on Super Visa and they apply in lottery for PR they are no longer genuine visitors? Once parents get Super visas they are not allowed to apply for PR status through PGP or other means?
