Parent Sponsorship Question for PR

Hi,

My spouse recently joined me in Canada in 2021. She is wondering if she can sponsor her parents for PR (when the program for 2022 opens).

Since I sponsored my wife's PR, can she herself sponsor her parents? She will be working soon, and our current household income is quite comfortable for commitment of financial undertaking.

There are no special restrictions on her. If she qualifies she can sponsor them for sure.

Would say she can attempt to sponsor them if your family income meets LICO for the past 3 years. Demand far exceeds the amount of spots so it can take many years to get selected. There also may changes to the program because there has been pressure to prioritize those who have applied multiple times, those have lived in Canada the longest, etc.
