Hi all,
I'd like to sponsor my parents to Canada but my case is kind of complicated so I'm not sure how to calculate the required income. My situation below:
1. I recently married and I'm going to sponsor my wife to Canada, not sponsored yet.
2. My baby just born.
3. I'm a naturalized citizen of Canada. (before marriage and child born)

Questions:
1. What is my family size? My parents do not live with me for the last 6 years. Somebody said 3, somebody said 5.
2. Is my wife considered as an undertaking?
3. is my baby considered as an undertaking?

Thanks for any inputs. ;D

If you have a wife and child and wish to sponsor your parents, then your income will need to be for a family size of 5.

Both your wife and child will be included when calculating your family size. If your wife was working and had Canadian income then she could be a co-signer for your parents.

Hope that helps

It's not complicated at all. Your family size is you + wife + baby + 2 parents = 5.

You must meet LICO for family size of 5, for 2013, 2014 and 2015 if you want to apply in January 2017.

But my wife is sponsored, so does she count into an undertaking or not? So as the baby.

Yes both your wife and baby count toward the family size and income required to sponsor.

Your question was already answered by two members. Your family size is 5.

If you have a PR app in for your wife, that would be considered as a current undertaking.

If your child is already Canadian citizen by descent then that is not considered an undertaking.

Regardless of this, family size will be 5.
