Parent sponsorship 2016

Hi:
I am Canadian Citizen , and my wife is permanent resident (since 2014). My wife is planning to sponsor her mom and dad from the Philippines to come and live with us here in Toronto. My question is, could someone who went through this, please give us a guideline of the procedures and time line of the whole process of the Parent sponsorship application. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Expect 4+ year for processing time.

Make sure your application arrives on the first business day CIC starts accepting applications next year. Last year the application cap was reached in a day and a half.

Note that you must meet the minimum income requirement for three straight years in order to qualify to apply (2012, 2013 and 2014). You and your wife can combine your incomes to meet the income requirement. You will have to provide your tax return statements for each of these years in the application package to prove you meet the income requirements.
