Apologies in advance if this has been ask before.

If I sponsor my dad into Canada as a PR, does his wife (my step-mother) and her kids get PR as well? Do I have to sponsor them for 20 years also if that is the case? If not what are their options?

Appreciate any advice.

If you sponsor your father his wife will have to be included in the application (although she can be flagged as non-accompanying). Any dependent children 18 years old and under will have to be included in the application as well (they can also be flagged as non-accompanying if you wish). Anyone who is included as an accompanying dependent in the application will fall under the 20 year obligation.

Any children 19 years or older will have to qualify to immigrate on their own.

Thank you very much for your reply. Just to confirm: If they are included on the application and flagged as non-accompanying they DO NOT fall under the 20 year obligation?
