Hi All,

Need your help with my query. I am asking a question on my cousin's behalf. His wife is looking to enroll for a paralegal course in Canada mostly Toronto. Her husband will be coming to Canada on a open work permit. How easy or difficult would it be for them under the scenario?

They have a 8 months old daughter as well. Their city of preference is Toronto. Her IELTS score is out as well, we were told colleges would the case weak and universities would make it stronger since her husband would apply for a open work permit. Forgot to mention I am from India.

Kindly guide me with the query.

Regards
Kevin

How is her husband coming on an open work permit, are you talking about the Spouse open work permit? As long as it is justified what you are doing is in the progression of your wife's career then it does not matter if it's college or university. Just because you choose university it does not mean that you will automatically be more successful. If you're asking your advice then you need to state what is your cousin's academic background, what courses have they seen, etc. As long as you have a genuine purpose for studying it does not matter where you are going to study. Make a choice based on what you think ( or your cousin thinks in this case ) will be most beneficial for you and you will automatically get a visa.

In short. First, select a course, see how it's going to help your career and then make such a statement in your SOP and you will get a visa provided you are able to state your case.

For University the documents asked are less but if your cousin qualify's for SDS processing then the documents asked should be on par with universities with some exceptions.

Since she's bringing family she will have to give proof that she is going to return back to India once her studies finish. Family ties or something must be shown otherwise that's a red flag.
