Hello all! The situation is as follows:

I live and work in Canada and my wife is studying in Russia. She recently got her visa for 10 years. We also applied for PR Card.

She will be coming to Canada in December. She already has a flight booked and everything.

Today, I have received a letter from CIC requesting my and my wife's passports. I have already contacted CIC explaining the situation that my wife needs her passport to travel in December and to know how much time will they need to put a PR Visa in our passports. And, of course, once the PR Visa is in her passport, the 10 year one would be cancelled.

But, I also know that as I am a primary applicant, I need to "land" before her. And me being in Canada means that I would need to either cross the border or attend to one of the CIC offices.

Question - if I go to CIC office and "land" there, how long after that my wife would be able to "land" alone? I mean, is it an instant system immigration system update to let know the officers at the border that I have already landed here? Will be it done by December?

Also, maybe someone had an appointment at the office? How long is the wait time for the appointment?

Thank you.
