Owp with spousal sponsorship

Hi,
Feeling pretty overwhelmed and kinda dumb so hoping someone out there can clarify this for me.

I applied to extend my stay as a temporary resident and was refused then call and they told me I was advice wrong on the phone and should'be send my application with the spousal sponsorship at the same time. So now my options are to send the spousal sponsorship with the open work permit application but since I am out of status as a worker for more than 90 days I do not know if I need to fill the restoration of temporary resident status session on the worker checklist.... if so did I pay the wrong amount of 255? Of course the call centre was out of reach for me and that is all I need to finish this really long and stressful step before I can actually send my application. Plz help me if you have been there before and thanks in advance

The call centre rep told me I was non restorable that is why I am so confused. I want this done so I can feel normal again and my partner can see me smile again! :-(

We need more information if you would like assistance. When did you last visa expire? When did you apply to extend it (when was the application received by CIC)? When was that application refused? What did the refusal letter say exactly?
