I am applying inland through my common-law partner (he is Canadian).
I am currently on a work permit through my employer (valid until 2019), however I REALLY need to change jobs, that's why I am applying inland so I can obtain an Open Work Permit (OWP). Thus, the plan is to keep working with my current employer on my current work permit, and when the OWP permit comes through I will look for a new job.
I need help with the one of the required application forms for the OWP: Application to Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay in Canada (IMM 5710). Specifically, it is to do with Question 3: "I am applying for one or more of the following:
i) A work permit with the same employer
ii) Restoration of your status as a worker
iii) An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
iv) Temporary Resident Permit.
Which one do I select for an OWP considering I already have a work permit specific to my employer? The closest I can see to my situation is iii), but it doesn't explicitly state OPEN WORK PERMIT, hence why I wanted to check!
