OWP Confirmation and LMO Questions

Greetings all,

1.I got my AOR yesterday and was wondering if this confirms the OWP too (as I send it with my application) or will I get a separate email stating that?
2.Does the AOR also mean that I am on implied status now? My visitor visa expire next month.
3.Also, since I cannot work till the documents have been approved, is it possible to look for work and see if a business is willing to apply for an LMO?
4.Will that be possible with my OWP in processing?

AOR only means acknowledgement of receipt. Only mean to say they got your application nothing more.

What you need is an AIP email (approved in principle) email. Only then can you use it to apply for owp.

If you have submitted your owp with application, then you would be on "implied status". If you have not submitted your owp with application, you would be out of status unless you apply for a visitor extension before 6 months are up.

You can work but you must have an LMO and a job offer before you can apply for a work visa. Most employers don't want to spend the money for LMO.

1. There won't be a separate AOR for the OWP app. If they were in the same envelope, you can consider the AOR to be for both.
2. No, as your visitor status is still valid. You will be on Implied Status after your visitor status expires next month.
3. Yes, you can look but it is incredibly difficult to find an employer willing to go down the LMO/work permit route.
4. Yes, if you find such a job, you can apply for a closed work permit without issue.

Just to be 100% sure (Just because I am over cautious, nothing to do with the answers here!), I gave them a call too and they confirmed what was said here ^^

One question though, although I pretty much know the answer I guess.
I got a return ticket when I first came to Canada as back then my girlfriend (now wife) and I were going to see if we are going to take our relationship to the next level.

I can now go ahead and cancel that return as I won't be using it. It won't cause any strange problems or so right?
