Owp and visitor extension

Hi everyone,
I have a question to ask.
I submitted my Owp on 17 Oct after receiving Aor for my Pr inland app. I heard if I submitted them separately, it would be quicker (some got it after 4-6 weeks). So I did it, Not sure if its true. And I linked my owp on Gckey few days ago.
My visitor visa will expire in 20 December.
I want to wait until 15 December to extend my visitor status in order to stay in Canada legally in case my Owp gets refused.
The reason why I wait until 15 December is that I wanna wait if I can have Owp before 15 Dec, if yes, I dont extend my visitor visa.
Does it sound right?
What is the best I can do?

I believe you have been misinformed. Majority of OWP take 3-4 months regardless.

There's no reason why it would be "quicker" to submit them separately. In fact, you may have chosen a path that creates a much longer wait time.

As said above, it generally takes 3-4 months for OWP approval. I have never heard of an OWP being refused after AOR has been received for the PR application. You'll just need to wait, and you'll probably want to submit a TRV extension application eventually for peace of mind.

I submitted my PR with OWP app in August. This week will be 3 months. I'm REALLY hoping to hear something in the coming weeks. My visitor extension I requested last year expired on November 8, so I sent in another visitor extension in September to remain legal while my OWP and PR Common Law Sponsorship (I am a US citizen but my partner is Canadian.) is being considered. I was told today by the local MP office after they had a conversation with CIC that I should withdraw my visitor ext request since I have and OWP request in as well, but I do no plan to do so. I think it is very important to stay here with a legal status. I think the government appreciates people that try to remain legal while waiting.

I think the same. First, even though not many people got rejected for owp but doesnt mean it is not happening. And I am not confident enough to say Im not gonna be rejected 100%. Thats why I wanna keep my legal status and play safe game. I think when I will be waiting gor visitor answer and I have owp, I will cancel mu extension.

Yeah I think I should submit extension for peace of mind and I may cancel it if I receive owp before answer.

People get rejected for the OWP by:

• Not submitting required documents
• Not paying fees
• Not being in status when the application was submitted.

If you submitted everything required, you paid your fees, and were in status, you're probably going to be fine. The TRV extension provides you peace of mind and I encourage you to apply for it.

Im wondering if people miss these thre things. There applications gonna be returned to them?
That means if I can link my owp online to gc key, am I fine with my owp?

If you can link your OWP to GCKey, then it hasn't been returned. Provided that nothing else is wrong, you're probably going to be just fine. Deep breath

I submitted extension on aug6
I had submitted Spousal application with owp before that but it got returned.

You were on implied status when you applied for the OWP. I'm not 100% confident about outcomes in that case.
