I received a letter for my OWP today and it says it has been granted. It is valid until 2020. Yay!!
My question is:
Where it says "Type" it says WP-EXT What does that mean exactly? I assume WP is "work permit" but not sure what the EXT means? This is my first work permit here and I feel very grateful.

So yes. As per subsection R12.04(5), an application for a renewal of a work permit for visa-exempt foreign nationals constitutes an application for an eTA. Therefore, an eTA should be issued upon approval of the work permit (that is, WP-EXT in GCMS).
