Overstayed US student visa affect TRV??

I overstayed my US student visa and returned to my home country. Will this affect my
Chances of coming to visit Canada for a business visitor visa? Does CIC have access to this info?

If it was reported in the USA, it is likely that Canada will have access.

The logical thought would be, if you overstayed in the USA, you may well do the same in Canada.

Given that you need to convince the IO that you will leave Canada at the end of your TRV, I think it is quite important.

Guess I should find out if it's been reported.. Any idea how to do that?

If the USCIS have monitored your record of overstaying under a student visa the Canadian embassy will probably see that during the background checks. Also, how long you've overstayed in the US can also be a factor.
