My friend has overstayed her WHV in Australia by a few months, she is planning on coming home in a few weeks time and we are wanting to apply for a Canadian WHV. Will the fact that she has overstayed in Australia mean her Canadian Visa will be rejected? Any help would be much appreciated.

Two possible reasons for a refusal:

1. Overstay in Australia, so CHC may feel that she would overstay in Canada.
2. If she is has been outside her country of citizenship for 18 months in the past 36 months when she applies, she is not eligible.
