Overstayed but got my PR

Hello,

After almost one year, I finally got my COPR and am planned my landing next month. I am currently living in my home country. Once landed in Canada, I have to go back to my home country again due to work. But my plan is to reside in Canada for good starting in 2017.

I am, however, very nervous about my landing. The reason being is I overstayed for a good 8 months or so..

I hope that this won't affect my landing.. Do you think that they'll question it at the border?

PS: I applied through CEC.

What do you mean by "overstated "? Did your WP expired and you stayed an additional 8 months past the "must leave Canada by" date in your passport?

It's overstayed not overstated. Yes my WP expired and I still lived in Canada 8 months after. There was unsolved legal issue at my then workplace, hence they were unable to finish the LMO and it was too late for me to apply for bridging work permit.

But I received my COPR and booked my ticket to land in Canada next month. I am nervous of my overstay will affect my chance to finally become a PR.

I don't know for a fact if this will impact on your landing, you may want to discuss this with an immigration lawyer just tobe sure.

I guess you are awaiting decision and stayed for 8 months and when lmo cudnt happen you left. Is that right?? If yes then fine . or did you stay illegally? I guess no as CIC know everything about you and they wouldn't give PR. Unless you provide more details cannot help.
