Hi All,
I have been reading all posts on overstay but haven't seen any that relates to mine.
I was studying in Moncton,NB on a student permit in 2005 and came back to my home country in 2006.
My home country is a visa waiver country and does not restrict me entry into any commonwealth countries around the globe.
In 2006, after 2 month's after I had returned back home, I left for Canada again, in November. And this time I was on a visitor visa, visting my cousin and her new born baby.
I was permitted entry into Canada on the visitor visa and on this trip, I over stayed at most for 5 days - 7 days, after which I departed and returned back home again.
Now, after taking a few month's break after my return from Canada, I decided to re-apply for my student visa again, so that I can complete my education.
Thankfully, without even thinking too much about it, I was granted a student visa with ease. After which I left for Canada, returned back, went back again, all in the correct manner. And I never over stayed witha student visa ever.
I only overstayed once, while on a visitor visa, after which I still got a study visa granted again to me, and as I mentioned, with ease.
When I finally came back home, I decided to work in my home country.
Now after 4 years, I have decided to return to Canada, and this time, with my wife, who holds an Indian passport & Singapore PR.
I will be going back to books once again to gather the necessary knowledge required, so that I can take over the family business within my home country.
Ties to the country, I have a few. My parents live here. We have our own family business, where my name is within as well. I have just applied for an apartment as well.
What are my chances for visa. I believe everything should go on smoothly actually except that I am worried about my previous over stay. Something rather minor, due to me not getting a seat on a flight.
There is a section within the new study visa application form which asks whether I have overstayed in Canada before. What shall I put in there? Shall I be truthful or just indicate no as to not overstaying, ever?
Please advise in detail if possible. Just would like to do a course and run the family business here.
Thank you guys
Regards,
phrixus
