Hey guys,
I have a bunch of questions, I hope you can help me, because I’m so worried and freaking out over this.
I went to Canada as a tourist in feb/2018. In June I mistakenly applied for a study visa within the country. In 17/09/2018 I got a refusal letter, so I had 90 days to apply for restoration and/or leave the country. I came back to my country in 07/11/2018, so in total I stayed for almost 8 months.
Now I’m in my hometown gathering all the paperwork work (IELTS, ECA etc) because I want to apply for a PR. I already checked my eligibility, apparently everything is fine.
I’m just worried about this “overstay” that I had the study visa refused, didn’t apply for restoration and left the country. I talked to a lawyer and he told me we would have to explain this during my entry express process.
Could this hurt me or decrease my chances in the express entry process? What are my chances? What should I do? How bad is this situation?
