Will the customs open up my check in luggage at the port of entry? I will be bringing some used imitated or pirated goods(bags, shirt? shoes etc). Will there be any problem if i bring those item with me?

They did not check anything at all when I entered from Coutts, Alberta (by land in my rented car). It may be different if you are going through the airport custom.

airport customs are quite different, there's a strong possibility that they will check you. it depends how much pirate stuff you bring with yourself, if it will be enough to convince them that all of these are your belongings.

It is only commercial quantities that they get excited about. If they worried about what fakes you had in your suitcases, think of how may fake Rolex they would have from visitors to Thailand.

can we take dvd's alongwith us? i have made a couple of those after downloading the movies from net. my son is very fond of animation movies, so can i take these with us?

Stay away from pirated or downloaded dvds either in the computer or in Discs. They will get more attraction than the imitated goods. You will get all old dvds at wall mart for around $ 5. Also you can rent them for free at public libraries. Start your life legally in Canada. Don't get into trouble for dvds which would not worth more than few dollars.

Sanjeev you can get legal Hindhi and other Indian language movies for $ 2. Don't bother bringing illegal copies and get yourself into trouble.
