Hi everyone,

It is so grateful to know this forum. I have been researching and reading all topics related to outland vs inland application.
However, I really hope someone can give me an advice on my specific case since I am still confused and worried about my application.

My background: - I am holding a valid open work permit and multiple visa entry until Nov 2018. I am Vietnamese citizen. I have got married this June 2016 with my Canadian husband (the sponsor). We have been in love for 3 years.

I have 3 concerns for my case:

1) Should I apply inland or outland for my case? Inland processing time now is 26 months.
If I apply outland, will I mail my application to Mississauga Centre? Then CIC will mail my application package back to Vietnam? I heard that the processing centre for Vietnam is Singapore. Is that correct? Should I check the processing time from Vietnam office or Singapore office?

2) If I might get an interview, would CIC ask me to do it in Canada with my spouse or in Vietnam?

3) In my case, what is the best way to apply ?

I highly appreciate any comment, advice or sharing experience from you guys.

Thank you so much!!!

If you apply outland, you send the complete application (sponsor forms, applicant forms, and the country-specific forms) to Mississauga. They will check the application and then send it to the processing office for Vietnam, which is Singapore. To check the processing times, check for Vietnam. However, if you have a complete application with a lot of evidence that your relationship is genuine, it should be done well before the time listed.

Ordinarily if there is an interview for an outland application, it will not be held in Canada.

One of the advantages of inland is that you can get an open work permit with it. Since you already have an open work permit, this is not a consideration for you really. One disadvantage of inland is that the applicant is advised not to leave the country during processing. You can leave, but if you are not let back in, the application is over. Since you have a multiple-entry visa, you would probably be let back in, but it is not a sure thing.

I would go with outland, simply because the processing time is generally much faster. In addition, you do not need the work permit one can get applying inland.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your generosity. It is so great to hear a very detailed advice. I really appreciate your help. I am already done with my application but I am thinking to pay for an ICCRC member to go over my application one more time and make sure everything is great. If you know any one who has a lot of experience in this, can you please suggest me?

Thank you very much

You should apply outland because you are holding a long work permit which is enough to process for outland application and plus you can travel as you want . Inland and outland both require a lot of proof of relationship an you can get waived from interview if your proof is strongpso you just need to consider travel possibilitiy

Where are you in Canada? R. Jessome gives good advice. Her website is here:
