Hello Deesavids! Happy to know there are more from Ugandans on this forum. I submitted our application at the beginning of January to sponsor my Ugandan husband. I haven't heard anything yet.

Have you heard anything from the Dar Es Salaam office or ordered your notes to see if they are working on your case? I had hoped it would be a fast office since it is new without a huge backlog but haven't read of any approvals yet. Very worried it will be worse than Nairobi.

My husband is now a permanent resident of the USA so eager to find out if it will be processed in Ottawa or Dar.

I hvnt heard frm them tho my file is inprocess am positively waitg.Dares salaam is realy slow compared to nairobi i guess its becoz of inexperienced officers so u shld kip waiting.
One thing i knw yo file doesnt go through so much scrutiny like he rest givem the fact that yo husband is a US PR and u expect not to take as much time as we have if all goes well.
Meanwhile i dint get to knw january which year but hung in there u will hear somethg from them very soon :)

Thanks for the positive response. I sure hope you hear something soon as has been a long time for you. Have you considered ordering (or having your sponsor) order notes? It sounds fairly simple to do and only costs $5. After 30 days you get them and it would give you more information on where they are at and if there are any issues so far. Once ours is in progress I plan to order notes regularly to keep track of what is happening.

I just submitted our application January 2016 so have awhile to wait. I hope my husband being a US permanent resident speeds our application up.

Where in Uganda do you live? A year ago I was living with my husband in Entebbe. I love Uganda and would love to live there permanently but we want to raise our son near my family and there aren't many job prospects in Entebbe. I hope things don't turn violent with the upcoming elections.

Please keep me updated on your progress here. Best wishes for an approval for you soon!

Hello Vixkingo! What is your timeline like? Heard anything from the Dar Es Salaam office yet? I'm still waiting for my AOR.

How are things after the election Deesavids? Keep me updated on what you find out from the notes. Fingers crossed you will get approved before the notes come back.

Deesavids, that's really good if you've passed the interview level. The cases that take over a year usually are because of an interview. I hope and pray you will get approved before your medical expires. It's so annoying and expensive to have to redo. Were you able to do it in Kampala or did you have to travel to Nairobi? My husband had to go to Nairobi when he did his US immigration medical.

Vixkingo please keep us updated. Where in Canada are you living?

My good news is I got my AOR yesterday! So hoping for SA soon, then I will find out which office will be processing the application. Still a long road ahead but at least the first step is done.

Welcome harryatu! Always nice to have new people join our little group :)

I've always heard (and it was my experience trying to get a visitor visa for my husband) that it is very hard for a Ugandan to get a visa to Canada. Because of that I didn't expect there to be many inland applications from Uganda. Just curious if it was difficult for you to get a visa for Canada?

My application is in process with the Dar Es Salaam office so just waiting. Hoping for good news for my friend Deesavids soon!
