Hello Everyone,
I am a PR and looking to sponsor my spouse (outland) who is currently 3 months pregnant. Need some suggestions on what is the ideal time to apply for spousal sponsorship,
1. Apply for outland spousal sponsorship now and inform in the application that my wife is pregnant.
Note: We can't complete the medical exam (as X-rays are not recommended during pregnancy) until the baby is born. Once the baby is born, we need to inform CIC and to provide particulars (birth certificate, child passport etc..), complete medicals (for both mom and child) and add the child as dependant to the sponsorship application.
2. Wait till the baby is born and apply outland sponsorship for both.
If i select option 1, i can't be able to travel outside Canada (beyond few weeks) during her delivery time as sponsor needs to stay in Canada during the entire spousal PR processing time. Considering this limitations, what are some of the pros of taking option 1 over option 2 ?
Either way (for both option 1 / option 2), we have to wait till the baby is born and to provide its particulars in-order to make the application complete. Taking option 2 avoids back and forth communication with CIC which might cause unexpected delays so I am leaning more towards the option 2; Enlighten me if i am missing something.
Appreciate all your time and effort involved.
