Hello folks,
My wife's outland permanent residency application is underway, through the VO office in Brazil. We're at Stage 2 so it's just a waiting game. In the meantime, my wife is here in Canada on a visit for one month. She has to return to Brazil to take care of some administrative matters.
We know it's possible she'll be summoned to Brazil for an interview. Obviously, we'd rather not learn about the interview request after she arrives back in Canada.
Can someone tell me if, and when, CIC informs us if the interview is waived? Is this reported on eCas, or do they not bother to tell you until they ask for the passport?
Also, does the decision to waive (or require) the interview happen fairly early in the evaluation process? Or late?
We're just trying to organize ourselves so that she's more likely to be in the country if and when the interview is requested.
