Thought I would create a thread to compare stories from similar situations.

In my case, my app was recv'd January 28, 2013, Sponsorship approval April 2013, I sent my medicals, FBI back ground check, all docs for application in first package sent to immigration.

August -- Copy of passport requested- Letter saying no interview was needed.
Request for CSQ ( because we will be living in Quebec)

We got excited because we thought this was the end of the process.

Nov. 13 - CSQ sent

Dec. 2013 -No word now since August from Immigration.

January 2014- my husband contacted Member of Parliament to see if they can look into my case.
3 days later- MP says he found out that our case is sort of stuck in a backlog with the second FBI clearance ( of which we had no idea there even was one). CIS is waiting for word from FBI on background check. Nothing anyone can do to find out when this will be done.
Considering this and the fact that CSIS has to do their check only after they finally hear back from FBI, we should not expect to hear back from CIS before the end of July.

I'm in Canada at the moment on a 6 month visitor pass. It will expire in July. Not sure if I will leave before that anyway and try to wait it out in the States. I need to work. ( I was a French teacher for 8 years before leaving my career to be with my husband as much as possible.)

The hardest part of this process is not being able to work and contribute to society and our household income.

I want to be "home" with my husband and not "just a visitor" in his home.
