Hey everyone,
I recently fell fowl of the CEC cap that hit on Oct. 20th and am expecting my application package to be mailed back to me any day now. Luckily for me, I am also married to a lovely Canadian and so I'm probably going to reapply for PR through Spousal Sponsorship.
Here, however, is my predicament. I am currently in Canada on a 1-year IEC Open Work Permit. It's due to expire 13th June. As such, even if I apply inland with an OWP application, I'm not likely to get a new work permit before my current one expires.
In your opinion, is it better to send an Outland application to London in the hopes that the entire thing will be processed in 6-8 months leaving me with 2-4 months of not having a work permit, or send an Inland application with an OWP application?
It looks like either way I'd be unable to work for 2-4 months, but with Outland the entire thing will be over much quicker.
Also, am I right in assuming the processing times only "begin" once an AOR has been received? If so, does anyone know the timelines for getting an AOR for Inland or Outland applications?
Any opinions are highly appreciated, thanks!
