Quick question for senior members. I'd appreciate your input.
I'm about to apply under CEC (Worker Stream). Unfortunately I won't be in Toronto when I submit my application. Which VO should process the application? Which VO should I suggest?
The OP25 assessment manual for CEC is a bit confusing. Here's what the 'Procedure' section states:
8.1. All applications for permanent residence under the CEC are processed at the visa office
in Buffalo. However, in cases where applicants have left Canada, they may no longer be
eligible to submit their applications in Buffalo, pursuant to section 11 of the Immigration
and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). As a result, they will submit their
applications to another visa office.
But the actual processing steps state the following:
8.2. Putting an application into process
All applications for permanent residence under the CEC are processed at the visa
office in Buffalo regardless of where the application was submitted.
So it appears that even if I apply from the Venezuela VO it will end up being assessed by Buffalo, with the same timelines as inland applicants. Right? Which VO should I suggest in the application form?
Thanks!
