I will be applying OUTLAND for my fiance. He is a US citizen. It seems as though there are two different applications, one for sponsorship of common-law residing IN Canada, and one for common-law residing OUT of Canada. Can I submit the application for common-law residing IN canada through outland? Confusing, I know. And I know that Outland vs. Inland has nothing to do with where you actually reside, more about where you mail it to. Just don't want to find out that we submitted the wrong application. Please help, as always, most grateful.

Thank youuuuuuuuu :-*

once you are married, you want to submit the application for a person residing OUTSIDE of canada. do NOT submit the application for residing IN canada. that is the inland application. Your assumption is half incorrect about the applications not being about where you reside. For inland, it has everything to do with where the applicant is residing - as it is a requirement to be living in canada. for outland, it doesn't matter where the person is residing - they can be anywhere in the world when the application is submitted/processing - even in canada. if your future husband plans to be in canada while his application is processing, you still want to be submitting the application for OUTSIDE of canada.

Brilliant! Thank you so much!

We have been living together in Canada for 1 yr, have all the documents and evidence. I was just confused about what package we were to be completing.

Thank you again
