Hi everyone,

we're planning to submit our docs by the end of Jan. I'm a Canadian with dual citizenship, my wife is Polish and our daughter has two passports (we made sure she received all her Canadian docs before applying). We live in Poland and will be by applying from there.

We've lived together for 4 years, 2 yrs plus as a married couple, and our daughter is 15 months; obviously there are no questions as to the validity of our marriage, however, we know we have to submit docs. and proof of marriage - which is fine. What other docs/proof should we submit (other than the obvious : pictures, wedding certificate, our daughter's birth cerft., rental agreement, etc)? Obviously we're not going to submit phone records or emails. We live together! I'm just worried that we'll end up sending not enough material. Any suggestions, past experiences would be very helpful.

In general, I find that for outland applicants there're fewer answers and clear guidelines than for inland applicants - for example, there is very little info for people applying with kids that already have their Canadian passports. Just my two cents...

Thank you

was same situation as yours :Canadian husband, being sponsored and a daughter (dual citizenship)

1.what I sent for relationship : marriage cert. and pictures (two of us, major events, with my daughter, with in-laws et ) .
we had less proof than what you would send and VO did not ask more supporting docs regarding to our relationship.

you have enough proof and should be fine . VO would request more while process your file (if they are questioning about your relationship)

2. I sent our daughter's birth cert. from hospital (in English ) and receipt that we applied for her citizenship from Embassy.
She did not have photo id (she was 6 month old) at that time and what we sent with my app was fine with VO.

3. FYI. only your wife need to take medical (not you and your baby)

Thank you so much!

If I may, one more question: did you (the sponsored spouse) send any translated copies of your school docs, work contracts, etc. (docs aside from the marriage stuff)? I only ask because getting this additional stuff translated by a sworn translator can be pricey. We've done that for all of our legal docs, but not sure if we should do it for the extra docs. We could wait and see if the VO asks for it....

Cheers

One other question, if I may :) - did your husband, who's Canadian, have to provide any docs from the country you guys were living in at the time of the application? I ask because I'm applying from my 'birth' country, so technically I'm living here as a local with dual-citizenship...

Cheers :)

no , he did not send any docs from s. korea.
what VO would be more concerned about is how you can prove you would settle in Canada after PR.

VO request more supporting docs regarding to settle in Canada while process my file.
: my husband was in S. korea and we only sent a letter with our plan in Canada when I applied.

P.S any docs you can present from your " birth " country, would be bank balance as financial support, and marriage cert. etc as proof of relationship.

Good luck.

Thanks a lot, you've been very helpful :)

We're planning to send a letter outlining our plans once we're back in Canada, as well. At this point all I have is a letter with an open job offer and the savings we plan on bringing with us. It's a bit difficult to do too much while living abroad. I mean I plan on going a bit earlier, getting an apartment, getting settled etc. I don't think I'll travel beforehand (other than the early trip once we're approved) in order to save money. I can stay with my mom when I go, so I guess I should get her to write a letter stating that.

sounds good to me.

you can get your mom write a letter that she will let you stay till you find own place etc. (does not need to notarize it though)

as long as you prepared all docs and did not miss any signature then you would be fine.

you are right. There are not much thing you can do regarding to settle in Canada while you are living abroad.
your plan sounds good and you can send more supporting docs when VO request.

Good luck.

Hi, hope I find you well. Thanks for the advice earlier :)

So, in March we received our UCI & application No., and were told that I had been deemed eligible for sponsorship and that the file had been forwarded to the visa office in Warsaw for further processing.

I was wondering what's up next? Any idea what our time frame could be based on your own experience?

Cheers :)

You can check out processing time (Warsaw) on CIC
(remind you whatever processing time is , it shows only 80% of applicants would receive pr in that processing time) so yours may/may not take longer than that.

1. you may request more supporting docs regarding to your relationship or settlement in Canada or docs from regional guide whatever Visa officer would not satisfy what you sent.

2. if processing time would take longer than a year, your wife may request re-medical.

3. if everything goes well, you would receive COPR in (processing) time.

Good luck.
