Outland Application for Spouse / can she get a work permit?

My wife (from Germany) and I recently arrived in Canada, and we are working on filling out the forms for myself to sponsor her.
I had misunderstood the guidelines, and was planning on sponsoring her on an inland application, until I found out she needed status in Canada (which she does not have). Is it possible to do the outland applicaton from within Canada, and then get her a work permit by some other means while the PR application processes?
Also if we apply from within Canada with the outland application, will there be any need for her to travel back to Germany to help the process? (Interviews, Criminal Checks? Ect.) Or will we be able to do it all from within Canada?

If she entered Canada recently, then most likely she has 6-months visitor status. One can't enter Canada with no status. You always have status to start, and only lose status when your initial status expires.

no she does not require a stamp in her passport to apply inland. many people enter canada without getting a passport stamped and many people apply for inland sponsorship on visitor status. She can extend her stay as a visitor by applying online to maintain visitor status during her processing and she can request 12+ months so she doesn't have to continuously extend her stay. It is recommended to do this at least 30 days prior to her current visit expiring.

Unfortunately you cannot obtain the Work Permit via the spousal sponsorship if you were to apply Outland.

For anyone from a visa-exempt country, it's physically impossible to get a TRV.

Valid visitor status is all you need to launch an inland PR app with OWP app.

So we are able to apply for a inland sponsorship with her visitor status, which also can give her access to a work permit. Which would bring me to my next question. On "IMM 5533" (document checklist)

"Proof of Relationship to Sponsor"
It asked if we are currently living together and to show proof that we are. We do not have joint names on any accounts or leases, but she is living with me.

Or do I say we are not living together and give proof of our relationship with letters, photos etc.

Does that still count as an inland application?

An inland application requires sponsor and applicant to live together in Canada during entire duration of processing.

So you will need to state you are living together, and submit whatever proofs you can.

I would explain the situation and then even try and get her some sort of mail delivered to your/ her address. Maybe she could open a bank account too that way you'll have another thing with joint addresses?

No probs! Try and provide as much as you can for other fields to prove your relationship if you feel you are lacking in proof of living together documentation. Good luck
