Hey all. Quick question. My wife and I are just about ready to send off our application. We live abroad and will be applying Outland, but due to health of a family member we plan to be back in Canada this summer. I'm sure that everything won't be approved by then, but just making sure that it would be ok for her to enter on a tourist visa while our application is being processed and then while in Canada and PR is approved ( fingers crossed), we'd just need to leave the country and come back in for the landing process. Am I correct about this or do I have it all wrong. Thanks for your time.

yep, she can certainly visit canada as a visitor while her pr application processes. it will not affect her PR application at all.

I am quite sure you're correct. However I am unsure if you would need a return ticket to enter Canada? If someone could correct me?

yes, if she is coming on a visitor's visa before being approved for PR, then she wants to have a return ticket. not having one is a red flag and can trigger secondary inspection/denied entry. it's usually advised to get a refundable ticket so it can be cancelled once in Canada. If she wants to stay in canada for her entire processing, then she will be able to apply to extend her stay as a visitor online.
