OUTLAND applicants- how long until approval?

To those who applied outland, how long until you received approval? We will be applying from the US.

How does the approval process work? Do I received a letter in the mail and then take that to the border to receive the official PR card?

I will be applying for permanent residency for my husband hopefully by October. I'm hoping the process goes quickly. We will be sending everything off together (evidence, medical, background check).

Americans average around 6 months, with some being done in just a few months.

The Confirmation of Permanent Residence will be mailed to your husband. He then needs to land as a PR, either by flagpoling at the border, making an appointment inside Canada (can take months) or leaving and returning on an international flight.

He will not receive his PR card until a few months after landing.
