Hello, my wife is living in canada and i am in the states, i understand it'll be quicker to apply outland in order to get my pr card, i am wondering though as the time moves by, could i possibly apply for a work permit and move to canada temporarily while my application is being processed? I know i don't need a visa because i'm from the US. sorry if this has been asked before, just wondering how it works, thank you.

no i dont think if you can go for that. you can getwork permit only in case of inland application. but you can get work permit first and go to canada and apply outland while living inside canada.
im not sure about that , its just a suggestion. :)
best of luck

You can try to get a Canadian job contract, get a positive LMO and apply for a temporary work permit.
Its up to CiC to decide if an Outland person can have that option. Why not.

Like this poster said....if you have a job offer from a Canadian employer and they are willing to go through the LMO process then that is a possibility. Also there are some job classifications under NAFTA that might qualify you but I do not know too much about that. Perhaps one of the experts can chime in.....
