I don't have experience submitting non-English/non-French documents, but I seem to remember that translations of official documents are supposed to be notarized.

Police certificates definitely have to be originals. I suppose that the same thing goes for the medical exam, but that's a little less critical in my mind because the doctor's office is supposed to send the actual results to Ottawa, anyway. I'd certainly send the original and keep a copy, because you don't need the original yourself anyway. The only thing they really need that for is a quick check to see if you did a medical exam and maybe a reference number to request your results from Ottawa to be sent to the visa office that is processing your application.

You certainly don't want to send any originals that you can't replace because sometimes they get lost in shipping or even at the CIC offices. Sometimes they send back pictures and sometimes they don't, so it's probably not a good idea to send your only copy of pictures you can't replace. (I know that you didn't ask about that.)

I don't know the answers for the National ID Card or the Marriage Certificate. Maybe someone else will chime in to answer those questions.

Read your country specific guide.

Any document already in english/french that the guide doesn't specifically ask for certified copies, just a regular photocopy is fine.

Any document already in english/french that the guide does specifically ask for certified copies, you need a certified copy.

Any document NOT in english/french, needs to be officially translated along with a certified copy.

And of course anything original you are submitting doesn't need to be certified since it's the original.

In my country's guide it doesn't say about the National ID.. original or a copy? Like a passport it also has english and french translation.
It says to provide the Marriage Certificate (Canadian). It doesn't say whether it should be a Long or Short form? And I also heard, people send photocopies.

Help!

If it doesn't specifically say National ID card needs to be a certified copy, and it's already in english, then just a regular photocopy is fine.

Not sure if short of long form required.

But again if it doesn't specifically say to send certified copy and certificate is already in english, then just a regular photocopy is fine.
