Original Police Certificates

Hey everyone,

My PR application (common-law, outland) is currently being process at the Sydney VO. I just got an email from them requesting I send originals for my police certificates (Australia, and UK) and traffic history report (for VIC, Australia, which is required for that state). I had sent all my police checks upfront - I just wanted to check if this is normal for them to request originals?

Just a follow on from this - could they possible be asking for new police checks? I got mine back in September shortly before I submitted my application. I submitted them upfront with my application. I followed the advice of the IRCC to get these in advance to avoid delays, but now I'm wondering if now that they are more than 6 months old do I need to get new ones?
