Hi! I'll be having my exam next week. I just noticed that we need to have the original passports. My expired passport was sent back to my country when I renewed it and it didn't come back with my new one. I still have a photocopy of the biographical area of the passport so I used that info when filling the application. Is it possible to only show the current one during the day of the exam and have the photocopy of the old one?

Well, bring what you have...
And explain to the IRCC officer why you don't have the old passport if you get asked about it.

Can you have an official email or any kind of confirmation saying that they kept your passport as a requirement to provide the newest?

For the interview, they will want to see all original documents for the photocopies you sent in with the application (basically a documentation validation check). If it is customary practice that your home country does not return the expired passport on renewing a passport, then it would be good if you can find some proof that this is the case and present that to the interviewer.
