My work permit expires november 2020. I entered canada may 2016 under IEC 2 year open work permit, I was on implied status whilst my employer got an LMIA and a closed work permit for 2 years which ends this november.
I was going to apply for PR this year but my lawyer told me that due to everyone applying from the UK the points are higher to get EE and now Im unable to and I wont have a chance.
I didnt go to university so I dont have any higher education. I left the UK permanently 7 years ago and lived in aus/nz/asia and canada.
My options are basically find a new sponsorship; I operate heavy equipment and a woman so I'm hoping I can find an employer up north to take me on.
I was also a herdsman on dairy farms and operator on grain farms.
Go to school; I would be willing to go to trade school or study to be a firefighter but I do not have the funds or access to the funds to do this. I dont even think I could get a loan in the UK since I havent lived there for 7 years. Especially given I can only work 20 hours a week on a student visa and kelowna is a high cost of living when working 40+!
I have a partner here of over 1 year but we do not live together.
I have a meeting with my lawyer at the end of the month but trying to do research to see what my options are.
Thanks
