Hello.

I am a Swedish citizen, my husband Georgian, and we're in the 25-35 age range.

I have no formal education beyond elementary school (up to age 15), am currently studying gardening (vocational), but may change it to something animal care related.

My husband was educated as a tourism manager but dropped off, has worked as an electrician (not high skill), farm labor, and more, all more or less physical jobs. He plans to become a carpenter.

We're both currently working as construction/industrial cleaners.

We would want to start our own cleaning business as an opportunity, but it seems PNPs require you to have lots of money saved to go that route, and we're definitely not rich. (And I know, lots of complications, you can't just start working in your own company as a foreign worker, etc.)

We could apply through studies, but there's the cost again.

I am also an artist, I both draw and sculpt, but the artist program seems fishy. I can't imagine just anyone can apply to that.

We're very willing to work "dirty", hard and low-paying jobs that most people don't want, but haven't found an immigration option for low-skilled workers.

So - is there one?

We're aiming for BC (countryside/small town) but can go anywhere that will give us the opportunity.

Generally speaking you must have at least a high school education - and most programs either require post secondary education or you can't score sufficient points to be selected without having completed university/college. I think it's unlikely you would qualify as a primary applicant with a primary school education. What level of education has your husband achieved? One potential option if he is an electrician is the Federal Skilled Trades program - however that would require him to either have a job offer in Canada or be certified as an electrician in Canada. Neither of these are easy to do - but maybe worth exploring.

I'm not sure what you're referring to by the artist program. If you're referring to the self employment immigration stream for individuals who are artists or athletes and can make a cultural contribution to Canada - then I don't see this working for you since you would have to be someone who is a recognized artist (e.g. either nationally or internationally recognized) to qualify.

I would explore the Federal Skilled Trades program.
