option C print out of the last Notice of Assessment

Our spousal sponsorship application is ready to be mailed. However, we overlooked the "option C" printout requirement for the application. Instead we only have the last Notice of Assessment for the recent taxation year attached. We called Canada Revenue Agency for the printout and they gonna be sending it after 8 to 10 days after Canada post strike ends. That would be another 2 weeks or more (we dont even know when the stirke would end). My question is : is it ok if we couriered in our application even without the option c printout (just the last notice of assessment we attached) and have the printout to follow if the immigration requests for it. We just wanna have our application get going since applications are taking too long to get decisions.

Please advise.

Thank you.

im not too sure though if it would delay more the processing of our application if i opt to send just the notice of assessment compared to just wait for maybe a month to get our option c printout from Canada revenue.. If i dont get away with just NOA in my application, would the immigration return our whole application? or are they gonna just send us a letter requesting for the print out and have it mailed/couriered to them.

thanks again..

I'm not to sure, but I think that they would request the missing document before denying you and sending it back. My wife didn't have hers and she sent her T4's for the last tax year and copies of recent pay stubs(im not sure how far she went back with them) and a note explaining why she didn't have the option C and said it would be available upon request if needed. My fbi check was about to expire so we couldnt wait any longer for the option C. so you could try to do that if you dont want to wait. I've heard others who have done it that way and gotten approved and it was never requested.

I don't have experience about this as others but please have a look at the end table note of "document check list". It said "incomplete application will be returned which the required items are:

(1) Application to Sponsor and undertaking (IMM 1344A),
(2) Sponsorship Agreement (IMM1344B);
(3) A computer printout of the most recent Notice of Assessment (Option C printout).

If you don't included one of the above items, they will have reason to delay your file. So, if it is so difficult to get it for some reason you should send them a letter describe the reason and tell them when you can update it ....

Good luck..

but if you read the part in the checklist where it says option C printout(#17), it says if you're not including it to send a letter explaining why, and underneath(#19) it says if you have to meet financial requirements and you're not sending the option C to include..and it lists different items. If you're just sponsoring your spouse you don't have to meet financial requirements, but I'd still include T4's and some recent pay stubs just to prove you're not on social assistance and have a job.

Hi,

I'm wondering what you end up doing there. Did you send the application without the option C and forwarded it later?

I just found out that there is a difference between the option C and the standard Notice of Assessment. I called CRA today but it's gonna take up to 10 business days. I don't really wanna wait for another two weeks.

I have the original Notice of Assessment from 2012 tax year. Should I just send everything and forward the option C later?

Please advise.

Thank you.
