We have a problem,
my wife started working on june 1st, so of course, she has never submitted anything to cra yet. if we call now, will we still get an option c?
We have been thinking if not, we could just write in the cover letter that shes just started working 4 months ago and henceforth cant get one

You can get an option C form as long as she's filed an income tax return for 2014. Although, if she wasn't working, it won't be very useful. You can write the letter and include copies of pay stubs.

considering she didnt work she of course didnt get her t4 forms which means she never made taxes. in fact, we are not quite sure when she has to start doing taxes.
shes been on osap until this summer, now shes working. so i guess well get her t4s this february so she can do her taxes?

we have been writing a letter. it says

"we cannot include an Option C form as i never have filed taxes. i have been receiving osap until this summer. in june i have started working full time. the stubs and a letter stating that from my employer is attached in the application. we are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause"

Taxes must be filed every year if we owe the government money or want to claim a refund, or you have to file taxes every year if you had no income but would like to get HST credit etc... CRA has a completely different view or residents and non residents from CIC's perpective...

As far as I know Option C printout can be obtained if you file your tax, that document is required for the sponsorship app, not sure how critical it is though.
What I don't understand is how someone who is on OSAP can sponsor? ;D

I'm not saying she has a T4 form. She could have had a T5 slip for investment income, T2202A slip for tuition fees paid, T4A for scholarship income or RESP income for post secondary education. She had osap so that means she was at school. She could have filed her taxes while she was at school to get some HST money and to keep track of the tuition credits to reduce taxes in future years.

Anyways, this wasn't a tax question =). Your letter seems fine to me.

OSAP isn't social assistance, you have to pay it back.
